Featured sang de boeuf ? chinese immortal pottery figurine

    hey buddies

    found this today for a couple of golden nuggets

    i usually see alot of these things in resin. but as this was pottery with a nice glaze, i thought i would have it

    any info appreciated. has a mark on the back

    chip to foot (but thats how i realised it was pottery !!!)

    I don't think that is a mark. It could be an auspicious quote.
    The colour is too brown to be sang-de-boeuf, or oxblood, which is dark red:

    thanks aj, the colour is more like the vase colour, pictures have come out to dark

    its defo a maroony red colour

    ill get a better pic tomorrow

    pretty darn sure its not resin, but will check with a hot pin

    be ready for a grumpy faced emoji if it is resin

    I wonder if the characters are a prosperity saying rather than a maker. I’m seeing others with writing on the money sacs.

    I forgot to say, he is Hotei or Budai, a Buddhist monk who became a semi-deity. The sack represents abundance.

    i thought id put an end to it !

    its a composite resin, so it it was harder to tell

    but no mistaking that smell !!
