    Weird.

Reminds me of some of the "garden art" that's for sale in the "marketplace" section of the Flower and Garden Show here. Not exactly useful as a vase, is it? The "verdigris" surface treatment is faux, of course, but is that actual wood attached at the gap or something else?

I take it there are no markings.

Wow! Looks like a project piece by an artist. Not old old, but interesting.

Looks more like a rock to me but have to look closely. I call it vase because not sure what else to call it.
I think is not the typical mass produce piece but no marks or signatures found.

Better yet, odds are it's petrified wood. If so, score! It was meant to hold something, or may have had an insert at some time. Could it be Israeli? That would make sense of the finish and styling.

Not getting Israeli vibe but could be.

It looks like stone, either wood jasper or petrified wood; my guess is the latter, but a rock hound may know better. The Israelis have a whole genre of pieces done in copper or brass with that green finish. It's generally enamel meant to look like verdigris as best I can tell.
