I doubt RBG would have worn it, but I still find it attractive after 30 years or so. Got it in Bishop, California. That's a Morgan dollar for size comparison. It's very flexible, but I haven't tried to determine the fiber these beads are woven on. Nothing worn, frayed or loose. I hope some of you will have a clue about it.

It looks faintly tribal, to my untrained eyes. Thanks for lookin'!

It has a sewing box hook and eye closure, so I'd say artisan piece from somewhere. It would look great worn out somewhere too.

Nice beaded collar. Can't help with origin, but it's attractive.

It does resemble some Zulu work. But they tend to use a beaded button and loop as the fastener rather than a hook and eye.

I at first thought those American's that did not know a Morgan dollar were young but not all. I am 67.5 and we had real silver dollars when i was young and going to the dime store ( not dollar store). 1965 is when they began making silver clad coins. Morgan's were printed clear up to 1920's and now being reprinted for silver investors.

Au contraire, AJ...my assumption that most folks know what a Morgan dollar is, an' its size, was near-sighted to an extreme...for which my sincere apology.
You may guess what you please, but I believe my failings don't include that level of discriminatory intent, an' that my conduct on this forum has been absent any demonstration of such national bias.

    sidebar......
I've known about Canadian silver dollars since I was a kid , getting them as Hannukah Gelt...but it was a trip to Nassau as a 20 year old, when we hit the casino , to play the one dollar slots , that they gave us handfulls of American silver dollars, Morgans..... to deposit in the one arm bandits.:woot:
They were so heavy , and pretty.....I wanted to keep them all .....but the machines ate most of them.:(
I have a 1921 D , within arms reach ....that I flip heads or tails whenever I chose to pick it up !
    Superstition , I guess !;)

I've seen them, but not very often. And didn't know that they minted new ones in 2021! Thanks for the link.
