I have been searching and searching and nothing. This is real sheep wool and I cannot find anything like it, has that vintage smell.
Any clues to where it might have been made ?

    Thank You

Billy, I'm wondering if maybe it was a craftsperson who made it(?)

Years ago, when we lived in the DC area, we used to go every year to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. It was a kick - all sheep & lamb - for show & for dinner - as well as sheep-related & wool crafts of every sort imaginable.

I KNOW there many sorts of sheepskin rugs, all hand made, and may of them were embellished, much as yours has been. I don't specifically recall any with BEARS on them, but why not, right?

    Hi BillyD

These are baby rugs or mattress cushions :)

I had a large plain one, and it was indeed wonderful to sleep on!

Nah... Goodwill find. I think it was 4x6 and I used it as a rug in front of my couch - my nieces and nephews loved sleeping overnight on it.

Once it yellowed, I couldn't bring it back to its original glory :(

    Cute bears!

Not goodwill but a different thrift store. To cute rug for me though.

Well, Billy, that doesn't surprise me in the least! (Now, if you had a little kid, that would be a different story.)

Of course, if you lived in a colder climate, you'd probably appreciate getting out of bed in the early morning & stepping on that snuggly rug, instead of on the cold, hard floor!

As a child in the 70's my parents took me to Canada and there were a lot of fur rugs for sale in the tourist venues. My mother bought one as a matter of fact. It was goat I believe and smelled somewhat strange.

It had been 'ram'paging about on a stinky old farm.

Smells like wet wool, probably - it's not processed like the wool in fabric. Mine had a distinct smell.

The smell isn't to strong, just a light musty smell. Have any idea on value ?
