Featured Siam sterling ring - a bit different than the Siam silver I'm used to seeing

    I've seem a bunch of Siam niello/ temple dancer style jewelry at this point, but I found this little ring today - which reminds me more of "de stijl" than anything else. Anyone seen a Siam piece with this type of decoration before? Just curious if it's something "rare", I know that even if it is that doesn't mean it's necessarily more valuable. It was cheap so, bought as more of a "maybe I'll learn something if I buy this" piece. Thanks for taking a look!

    It's about a size 5 1/2.

    Siam became Thailand in 1939 ..maybe someone had an old stamp - but there again maybe not - maybe pre 1939 :jawdrop: but I'm no jewel guy so just a guess

    I think it reverted back to Siam about 1945, and then back again to Thailand about 1949. But maybe that’s even old for this ring?

    The terms seem to be used interchangeably these days. I've seen brand new Thai jewellery which says Siam.

    Yes, aside from the secondary colours it looks very de Stijl, nice.
    I'm with obb, the Siam mark is also used on later jewellery. Siam seems to be regarded as more of a brand name in jewellery.
