I think this may be a brush washer with a 川陶 (Sichuan pottery) seal.

The piece certainly cannot be the rare Sichuan from the Han or Tang Dynasties.

It does not match any of the cups, saucers or plates that are being manufacture by the Sichuan Hongsenyue company founded in 2002. Completely different.

I would like to find out more about when this may have been made. Do any members know if Sichuan pottery was also made during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries?

The white glaze is crackled with dark bubble bursts as if it were fired in a wood burning kiln.

4 1/2" long, crescent shaped with a plum blossom branch, perhaps a polychrome glaze and maybe meant to be used as a brush rest?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
