Please, I need help reading the signature on this little oil painting! And, what do you think, is it an amateur or a professional painter?
    Thank you! L1.jpg L2.jpg

    I don't know that but I like it...I think...
Are those trees actually presented as leaning to follow the ground slope they're on???

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

The name does not look English. That first initial is odd. Draskoff?

Seems like a stupid question but you'd be surprised. Anything on the back? Sticker? Label? Markings?

I think the artist had some talent. Whether or not they were able to make a living as a painter remains to be seen. There is a certain commercial appeal to the work but I don't think it to be great art.

Italian cypress but the scenery looks like Southern California. And certainly a trained painter.

I think the first name is "Firas" and the second is "Kioff" ?

L3.jpg L4.jpg L5.jpg Thank you all for your comments! I found this painting in Greece, and the scene could well be the Greek countryside. However the name of the signature is clearly not Greek. I thought also something like Draskoff in the beginning, but there clearly is an "i" behing the "K", so Firas Kioff sounds interesting! There is nothing on the back of the painting, but I will include a photo of the reverse, as also a better photo of the painting itself. Size is 31 x 23 cm...

I like it better this way as the leaning of the trees is less obtrusive to me now. :)
    Siggy is better too.
