Signature On Still Life

    It does appear to be a factory painting, possibly from México, in which case the name of the "artist" isn't important.

    It's quality. Lack of technique. See how the painter hasn't mastered shadow? The fruit floats on the surface. And it appears to have been painted quickly. Look at the highlights on the grapes for instance. We see so many factory paintings here. One reason I, for one, ask OPs over and over and over again to post good quality images of the front and back including frame, and... Tired of typing it but... you know the rest.

    Agreed. There is no way that plum would be able to stand up like that on its own.

    I see a few on google images listed as P. Ruta, many claiming to be by listed artist Peter Ruta, they were definitely not done by Peter.
