Has anyone heard of this artist/sculptor?

    'F Wynn'

I assume that it is their name and not a previous owner?!

It's approximately 30cm long and a fair amount of weight to it.

I've looked online but only find an Anne Wynne, and nothing that matches 'F Wynn'

    Thanks for looking.

Wonder, though, if it isn't also one of these 'Heredities' cold cast bronze productions like the one by Ann Paton Wynn. There seem to be a lot of children with ponies.

Hi @Jack Edwards, a couple of things.....you said 'heavy' so it probably is bronze, but has it been painted over?? .....just seems awfully dark!! Also, BEFORE the 'F' in the signature, I see what looks like X's and 'Y's in the far left box, and almost a small name in the box closer to the 'F'.....very small, and I can't bring it out any better, BUT YOU have the casting IN HAND, so, Maybe you can, if there's actually anything there!!

It could be resin bronze, they call it cold cast bronze but it isn’t genuine cast bronze metal, it’s powdered bronze mixed with resin and then patinated. Foundry cast bronze metal is cold to the touch, resin is around room temperature when you touch it. The resins are weighted too which adds to the confusion.

I was just about to say I don't think it's cast because it's not cold. Does that make it a cheap replica? Or just mean it's nowhere near as rare?

Unfortunately those aren't markings just rough areas.

It’s likely resin then. Bronze cast in a foundry is an expensive process and the prices reflect that. Also there are often just a few cast as a bronze, maybe 5-10 or 12 only. I’m surprised I’ve not found any other sculptures by F Wynn as he/she has produced a nice enough piece. It does look rather like one of the Heredities pieces as Bronwen suggested.
