Signed ceramic bird vase...looks vaguely NA or maybe Mexican? Thoughts?

This was $1 at a garage sale last weekend, noticed it was signed, so brought it home.

If I had to guess it was a somewhat quickly made tourist piece.

Wild guess at the signature... maybe initials followed by Garcia?

Sort of a simple or quick paint job maybe, just curious if anyone has seen similar or has thoughts or keywords. I'm thinking not too much of a resale item, but thought I'd run it by here to be sure. Thanks for taking a look.

(Remnants of a original price tag probably, haven't removed yet.)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    G. S. Laro? Not sure... I see small impressed marks around the bottom, below the signature. Do they look like letters, or anything that can be read?
