Not old or even vintage I’m afraid but does anyone recognise the signature?
Random owner of rather nice puzzle box or something else?
Thought I should check before trying to polish it out :hilarious:.
    Thankyou :)

Hm. He appears to be a rather naughty boy as well as a wood carver.

Oh dear, see what you mean. I’m reminded of the carver, calligrapher, and sculptor Eric Gill, talented but so weird and would be jailed these days.

There's a link from 2010 where he got convicted, but I can't access it from my side of the pond.

    LOL
    Just looked him up.

One slip of a very sharp chisel wood put an end to all that.

Interesting how in the USA there seems to be a lot of freedom of information about sex offenders. It's there for everyone to see online. In the U.K. the privacy laws are such that you can only get information about someone if you have a very good reason such as if they are in direct contact with your child. It's called Sarah's Law. Convicted offenders seem to be protected over here rather too well........
