    7 x 5 and a half inches. May be Victorian and depicting a little boy. Any ideas about the signature please anyone? Thanks.

    Found it! Bit of a trawl, Harry Lawrence Oakley seems to match.

    Hadn’t seen that, thanks Fig.
    I read he did portraits of many famous people as well as the War ones and after the war people on holiday in coastal towns. This portrait came from a table top sale today, I paid £10 which was a bargain.

    I think that's a young woman. 1930s-ish from the hair and ruffled collar.

    Here’s a couple more pics showing the faded highlights which may have been a reddish bronze colour originally. Not sure about the age, could be a child with full head of bouncy curls or a youthful woman. Agree it’s later than Victorian. Does look like the one you posted Debora.

    The rounder features and enlarged head make me think a child as well.

    Could even be the same person, somebody he knew as a child and then older.

    Decided to remount to try and stop the acid discolouration and discovered this writing on the back of the silhouette (1 or 7 Bluebell Road Nch, mount and fit) This Road is in Norwich where I live. The backing card has additional text circled I can’t read. Someone used the portrait print as the backing. Sadly the printed Label was all ripped up by someone before I took the stuck down brown paper off. Edit, the printed portrait label seems to be about the print not the silhouette, maybe a Reynolds! Any ideas please? Thanks

    @Debora
    I’ve added to the original post, not sure if I should have done a completely new post.

    Absolutely fantastic Debora, Thank you, I don’t know how you do it!
    I thought the name was Trish H. Definitely 7 Bluebell Road too.
    I’ll make sure the info is marked clearly on the silhouette back and backing on the new remount.
    Funny too how I initially thought the Reynolds label was about the origins of the silhouette! Thanks again:)

    Someone repurposed the frame. It would have read "Reynolds" with "Portrait of the Artist" below.

    Here she is remounted with acid free pastel paper and card. The acid leach isn’t so noticeable now.
