Apparently, this company has been producing handmade pins since 1933, and the silver and brass version I found since 1979, so this pin could be 40 years old but more likely newer. What I wanted to share with you all, is the story I found when I researched the Stuart Nye Jewelry's Famous Dogwood Design pin I had bought at a resale shop.
They use hand made tools to cut and hammers to fashion their pins and other jewelry. Their shop is part of a tourist area in Asheville North Carolina. I am a sucker for things with an interesting history, so for those who haven't visited Tunnel Road: https://thevintagetraveler.wordpress.com/2011/06/30/stuart-nye-since-1933/

Lovely brooch and great story, Kiko. I love it that it still has that 1930s-40s look and feel. Simple and honest artisan work, with simple tools and materials, wonderful.

Thank you. I was immediately attracted to it because it evoked a bygone era. It was only when I got home and cleaned it did I discover its secrets.

Thank you. I did a search on the site to see if anyone else had discovered this interesting jewelry maker and when I couldn't find anything, I thought you all might like to join me in the exploration.
