I believe this is silver plated, but I will have to dig a little deeper into that at another time. Measures about 2.5 x 2.25" and is about 140 grams. Is this a coat of arms or is it just decorative or meaningful?

    Thanks for your help.

I'm curious if the griffin decoration is painted on the surface or enamel set-in like champleve?

    Sigh...back from vacation...

This is definitely enameled and not painted. I am not so sure this uses the champleve technique. I am assuming the design that shows through is cast under the enameling with the thickness allowing the design to show through.
