Yard sales today and came away with silver & gold, 1 pair of candlesticks by Cornwell, a turquois bracelet (tests as sterling) sadly no markings, a couple sterling religious medals, a ww2 paratroopers badge, and a pair of 10k earing's with clear stones (not diamonds :bigtears:. Total spent 8 bucks! 100_0478-1.jpg 100_0479-1.jpg 100_0481-1.jpg

For eight bucks, that's a haul! The bracelet looks Navajo.

Candlesticks an inescapable wedding gift in the late 1940s - early 1950s. (Copper chafing dishes soon followed as anniversary presents.)

My parents unloaded their copper chafing dish in a yard sale years ago. They got married in the era when everyone got silverplate instead of the sterling. I melt most of those weighted ones when I find them; they're really "silver tinfoil" - silver foil over a wax or plaster core.

Had to step up to $90 for this tonight. The twelve forks are 2+ oz each. The 12 spoons are about 1-1/2oz each.

Two different makers. 1917 and 1918 production.

After looking at their responses and no makers mark on the piece it can only be described as southwest style. Within their time frame hobbyist made 10's of thousands of Navajo,Hopi.etc style pieces of jewelry.

    Beautiful elegant silver service.
Re. "Swedish" text, yes. Eskilstuna is a city in southeast Sweden, '"aktiebolaget" means limited company. Difficult to read first word due to glare, but probably manufacturer.
