Featured Silver folks,what am I ???

Hi all. Picked this up on my birthday (along with 2 trays that Ill post later) not knowing what the heck its for ? Its 9 inches wide,and the tube in the back is hollow. Its marked "900" and "SP" and some numbers I just cant make out. Any suggestions are always appreciated.

 

Hangs-around-looks-cute? Polish bait to keep @gregsglass out of trouble?

I wonder whether there was something else that hung off the tendril opposite the hanger.

Hunh, definitely looks like it's intended to hang, and I'm with Bakersgma on thinking that something might have hung from that downturned tendril, and wonder if the stem is hollow for a reason . Can't quite make out the mark on the left in the last pic, but would guess it might be a Greek piece...

 

This is annoying me, becuase I've seen it as a component. Something to do with a decanter or stand.

 

For some reason I keep thinking its something that goes on a waist.Maybe a cord went through the tube? I also wondered if the hook thing was for a chatelaine ?

 

chatelaines are usually a lot more delicate......no ?
