Hi everyone! A friend gave me this bracelet from an estate sale today. He thought I might have an idea what it was, but I haven’t a clue. I don’t really know where to begin. He thought it might be Native American, but I think not. I also don’t think it is Mexican. But I could be wrong. Usually the hand made jewelry I see here in the texas panhandle is one of those. Any ideas? Is this style brutalist? I think it is sterling. My tester has gone bad, but it has the look a feel of it. The bracelet is signed on each “link” so I added both signatures. As always thanks a bunch!

Some sort of artisan piece? It reads wrong for Mexican or NA jewelry, although a Mexican factory could have made it.

Looks like it was fold formed a process invented by Charles Lewton-Brain in the 1980's. Video of process....

Very nice bracelet cfh. I have seen Navajo Modernist silver much like this, which is no proof that it actually is Navajo.
    Can't find the mark.:(
Nice informative video, but to me the 'folds' on the bracelet look like Modernist/Brutalist lost wax to me. It has the blobby lines of lost wax, and the thick blobs at the ends of the lines are also signs of (Brutalist) lost wax.

I too have seen modernist Native american silver, but I have never seen a hinge in N.A. work. Mostly I see cuffs and bangles. I will have to look up lost wax. Thanks!

You're welcome, of course. With lost wax you can also drizzle 'threads' of wax onto the wax model, like honey, that's when it comes out like on your bracelet.

I love this bracelet! Chunky sterling bracelets are my weakness.
