    Hello

I recently bought a few nice pieces of silver, among them were these two and i’m not having any luck in the silver marks.

First is a small jug. 48 grams and 6.2cm height. It has two small marks that i dont recognise at all. Im not expecting any results on this but you never know.

Second is a sugar shaker. 124 grams and 14.5cm height. They look like older British sterling marks but i cant find a match on any of them. Underneath is a right facing lion, a left facing male head, and a makers mark. Possibly an X or V followed by C or G. Inside the lid rim is a fourth mark, possibly the letter G?

    Thanks for looking.

I might have just solved my own mystery on the sugar shaker. Dutch 1816? Not sure on the maker though…

The first one is marked in the "loth" system - which would be German before the 1880s. 13 loth is the equivalent of .812 in the decimal fineness system. The other mark would be the city of assay, but I can't see the symbol in the circle. There would also be a maker's mark, but is there another punch besides these 2?

Thank you! I was so stuck with this jug. No other marks apart from those two, i guess it was part of a set and this only has a partial silver mark.
