Featured Silver plate - should be easy to find the maker!

Bought this French silver plated egg cup this yesterday morning, and polished it in the evening. I thought it would be easy to find the maker, and although there are at least a dozen LJs, I've had no luck.

So I could do with some help finding the silversmith.

Two mark (1) LJ with a bubble separating them). What do you think the bubble really is? (2) Is text. I think it is 'Mital Diane'.

Other than the identification problem I think it is a very desirable egg cup.

Do you think it might say "metal blanco"?

 

Metal Blanc - white metal in French. The other mark is the maker's mark.

 

The letters in the maker's mark may be L and J. The symbol between them looks like a hot air balloon to me, but that could just be the power of suggestion.

It could well be 'Blanc', but it is definitely 'Mital' and I cannot see anybody mistaking an i for an e when they made the stamping punch..
I have just read that the French use 'Metal Blanc' to mean aluminium, the second most used metal after iron and its alloys.

This egg cup is not made of aluminium. It is heavy for its size.

It's all very confusing, especially when I thought it would be easy to find the answer.

Thanks for trying. Perhaps I'll just stumble upon the answer when looking for something else.

 

Metal Blanc is a legitimate silverplate mark in France. I have never heard of it being used as a mark for aluminum.
