Silver plated Bowls Stumped on ID and Possible origin ?

Hi all, I have had these two bowls for several years. When I first bought them I thought they were silvered glass? Then I studied them and saw a tiny nick on the inner shell so looks more like a metal with silverplate? They weigh 1 pound each, 6 3/8" X 1 1/2" deep.no markings and they do tarnish and clean up with Wrights. They are rather ugly too.

Still curious about them since I cannot find similar? Thanks for any help

Yes and it wont come off??? It was like that when I bought them? No idea what it said?

 

You could try Goof Off, not that it matters.

My WAG is a late 20thC import - could be from anywhere, but most likely India or Italy. Pier One, or somebody like that, as the retailer.

 

Thanks Bakers...on other silverplated and sterling items the Wrights has always removed the goo. As for these I will let my kitties have them for kibble.

Like I had posted, I first thought they were glass and possibly like the glass you see with the BLANK?...word escapes me now....like old tree ornaments.
