There seems to be a very small impressed mark in the inside middle of the cover. Please take as good a closeup picture as you can and post here.

 

@Bakersgma, I want to say there's not a DARN thing wrong with your eyes!!!! If I didn't know better I'd say that's an EYE in that tiny hole the bird is facing! Be sure to hit enlarge!! (I also enlarged the compact 2X and lightened the hole a bit to see in it!!)

So, @armenexp, just wondering, did you ever check around the inside edge of the LID on the compact where I'd circled in RED where I thought there were some markings??? Just curious.........if there were some for you!!

 

I think the divot/hole is where a gemstone is missing. I see four little prongs.
Swallows were a popular Victorian motif. I think this compact is 1880-ish

I was referring to the inside of the lid not the outside. Where did that picture go?

 

What the HE dbl L is a "cloud folder" and how do you find it? I give up. I have no intention of dealing with this guy's queries again (assuming he posts any more.)

 

It is storage in 'the cloud', the option many of us avoid for safety reasons.
The OP wants help, but he doesn't want to do the sensible thing the rest of us do, which is simply to post photos in his thread.
Now he has deleted his photos before getting any answers.
A total waste of time.

 

And I think @stracci most likely hit the nail on the head!!! I DO see the little prongs she's talking about.....and the "eye" I see may be just an (BAAAD pun coming) Optical Illusion!!!! Ditto on @Bakersgma's last post!!!
