Hi folks, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! This is a tray that I think might be sterling...not sure. It does look and feel like it though. Nicely made at any rate. The mark is double-stamped and I can't make out what the letters in the shields are. Also, the "Hallmark" (underlined) mark confuses me. Does anyone recognize these marks?? Thanks for looking and advising if possible... IMG_1415.JPG IMG_1417 (1024x765).jpg IMG_1420 (1024x765).jpg

Dunno the maker, but the EP most likely means electroplate

    Certainly electroplate.

The last two letters are EP - Electro Plate. I can't read the first two. Most pieces like this were 1960s wedding gifts, and most of them were silverplate.

Thanks! The 'Hallmark' mark (and the handles) made me suspicious. I figured more practiced eyes than mine would help confirm...thanks again!

Good grief! I knew I had seen this mark before, but couldn't find it. Got hung up on the letters and then distracted! Good job Libby!

Thank you libbyloodle! That at least makes it a little more interesting!! I couldn't quite fathom Hallmark as the actual makers name :O)

You're welcome, wenna. I actually happen to have a nice piece by this company, so I've had to look up that mark myself
