Can anyone give me a date/ period on this large 4 1/4" silver wreath brooch? (NOT marked!) but tests silver! Thank you!

Unusual. I would describe it as wreath & ribbon design. It's 20th century, not antique. Middle third of the century? Guessing, there will be other opinions.

    Almost looks like an insignia.

My thought is that it is like a bar brooch in disguise. You could certainly wear it to keep a collar closed.

    Hi,
Made in the 1970s. I have a lot of brass stampings of that sort which were made for clock decorations. Look for a tiny gh on one of the edges. I made a lot of pins back then and earrings.
