    The prim old Victorians,so very proper-and yet insanely wild when it came to the decorative arts !
    Look at these pieces we term Eastlake,Aesthetic,etc.It's rather like-'Let's glue a snatch of Etruscan here,a dab of Moroccan there,some Islamic & a dollop of Chinese-Voila !'.
    I love their crazy stuff-now how repressed were they really ? Hidden yes.
