I found this ring today for a little under scrap. It is worn quite a bit but is still very much wearable. It is a closed back so I assume that is means it is earlier or am I wrong? I was thinking Victorian maybe 1880s but other examples online say 1860s-1890s. Does this seem correct?

Without a maker's mark... it was made sometime in the last 100+ years.

The closed back has nothing to say about the age. I'd call the shape cigar band. Some Roman gold rings look not that much different from us. The shape is so simple & such a classic, date is...? But suspect this is some [This just in

I was going to say 20th century & add maybe 1930s forward.

    Someone wore that to death.

Thanks! I paid quite a bit under scrap so I'm still fine with it!

The wear on the ring means little,I have re-polished stones and cleaned up rings which have had much more wear in as little as 2 years.
