Its 4 1/2" diameter, 2 3/4" high, foot ring is 2 1/4"; weight is 300 grams. The pink seems to have 'settled' during firing, being present in the floor, an' at the lower extreme circumference of the outer glaze...some kind of magic there, methinks. There is quite a bit of soiling on the unglazed surface at the foot...perhaps indicating some age?
This vessel appears particularly plain, at least to my eyes...I'm pleased with the wabi-sabi in the apparent drips of pink on the rim, pic 3. The mark is beyond my limited ability to accurately orient to allow convenient reading, sorry.
Please help me with age, an' whatever else you can say about this minimalist vessel...an' thanks for lookin'!

Something is niggling in my brain, but not revealing itself. Don't think it has any great age, does look a bit like some studio pottery, but also that niggling thing is whispering Japanese.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The texture of the glaze and of the clay from which it is made reminds me of the Oribe bowl I tried to identify here over a year ago. But it seems that Oribe usually has green or black in the design, and not so simple as this? I don't know, really. Here's my original thread:

I never did identify more about it, and did post to the Japanese pottery and art forum that you recommended. Haven't checked it in a while, though. Maybe somebody finally replied.

Thanks AJ for the Japanese connection. At 4" diameter, I wonder what the bowl was used for.

Rice for an individual? Edit: Actually, I was told that my bowl was a tea bowl... not rice!

No. I just went there and looked. Nobody has replied since I posted it in July 2023. Maybe because I couldn't get a clear picture of the maker's very tiny stamp. But I can actually see the details well enough in my picture. If you search the site for the word "Oribe" it should be the one from July 2023... I think the third one from the top. I posted one updated reply with more photos a few days after originally posting it.
