Featured Singer Puzzle Box to Fill Up :)

Some of you may remember that I like collecting sewing stuff. Well, I got another piece today. An antique Singer 'puzzle box' for $30.

Here it is, with my other puzzle box. The box I bought today is the chocolate brown one, which is undernetah, in both these photos:

As you can see, the box is extremely empty. I'll have to start filling it up!! At least half its contents are missing, when you compare it with the box up above, which is 100% complete.

These boxes were manufactured from 1889 until about 1910, for Singer long bobbin machines, and for Singer machines using Class-15 bobbins.

I already have a box for my long bobbin machine, so this one I intend to fit out for my Singer 15.

Don't 'wow' too much! It's gonna be a lot of hunting and scraping and searching and finding!!

Oh, I have one of those! I don't know how complete it is.

Mine is probably for the old Singer that either my mother or my grandmother had electrified and put in a mid-century sewing table.

It'll either be for a Singer 27-28 class, or a Singer 15-class. They were the only machines for which these boxes were made.

Thanks for that info, Shangas. I still have the electrified Singer and this will help me check it out.

I think it may look like #15, but not sure. Thanks for the photo, which will definitely help when we pull it out to look at it.

Saaah-loooowly filling it up. I managed to find two or three extra pieces, and a full packet of needles, in my junk box.

And I remember a loooong time ago saying I had extra bits from my mother's sewing machines and promised to look for them and have not found them, yet. Seriously. You would have to see my attic to understand. We were in the house five years before we uncovered a horsehair sofa that my mother-in-law didn't even remember.
