    Could be a cachepot and possibly Dutch but not for certain

    I was thinking more like a censer. Likely European but not certain of the exact country.

    If that is a J. B., possibly Jennings Brothers but I don't quite see their usual quality in this.

    I think that is is an antique salt cellar! The initials are L B. perhaps for Leech brothers (UK). If it is, it will from the end of 19th century.
