Hi....while digging through some old family photos, I came across these three old "cards" and aren't sure just what they are or what to call them. shown measurements are without the fringe. Also, do they have any value?? Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!

Wow!! Thanks Davey!! That says to me that either some UK relatives back in the 1800's either sent that to some who had come to America or brought it over with them!!!! Great info!!!!

Will someone tell me what's going on in the 3rd card? Is that a snowball at the top and when it melts, something happens to the bucket? Or am I reading it incorrectly?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I was wondering about that one, too. Baffling!

I think its a crude pully system for getting water from a well similar to a Shaduf

Thanks -- maybe it's just the way it is drawn, but it looks odd, and surprising for a card of this sort. I like it as an oddity, though.

And I totally was not thorough enough in my initial explanation of the cards....there are only three cards in total.....the first two 'Black Art' are front and back, the same for the second two and the same for the third two.....hopefully that all makes sense!! Sorry 'bout that......and yes, I agree that looks to be a somewhat 'primitive'
system for getting water from a very snowed over well in the dead of winter!!

What has me wondering is why the fringe on three sides of the two cards.....they don't look like they should go together, or maybe there would have been some writing on another half that isn't there???

Thanks again all for everyone's input!!! Do these type of UK cards have a specific name???
