Featured Small carved wooden table-marble top

    Hello all

    Someone close by has this table for sale. I like the carving but don't know it's origin or age. Proabbaly about 18" tall, possibly marble top?

    Nice plant or side table, Ratsy. It is Chinese, late 19th-early 20th century.
    Needs a bit of work and tlc, but you already noticed that. Nothing major, so if the price is right....

    Hi Ratsy, AJ is spot on and I love it too. Is the marble insert broken? These can be quite fragile as the timber expands and contracts at different rates and can split the marble. Dropping or knocking over can also crack the marble and reduce its value. Hope the restoration is a huge success.
