Featured Small carving of hunter with his catch(and his dog)

    Little wood carving of a hunter with his catch tied around front, and on his back, carrying some rope and sticks, and his dog at his side. Where's this guy from? Indonesian perhaps? 6 inches tall (without the base). Thanks again!

    I like him.
    Your guess of Indonesia is not too far off, culturally. But he is from another turban wearing region, India. The turban is also worn in neighbouring Pakistan, but I think this hunter is Indian.
    He is wearing an Indian garment called 'dhoti'. The dhoti is also worn in rural parts of neighbouring Pakistan, although the Pakistani generally wear wide trousers called kalmar.
    A dhoti is like a sarong, made of one piece of cloth, but unlike a sarong the end of the dhoti goes between the legs and is tucked into the waistband.

    The turban with one end pleated like a fan is typical of parts of India, especially the central west and northwest.
    Nowadays you also see it in Indian uniforms and wedding outfits:
