    The second glass
It's four inches down, the base bit is approx 2 inches ... it has a sort of greyish cast.
    Polished pontil
The engraving doesn't seem to be of the best quality to me
**Tings* if struck with my nail

No. 2, copper wheel engraving could be last half of the 19th Century or early to mid 20th in copy mode.

The second one would be a liqueur glass. Probably holds 1 ounce.

Of course...but they all look like drinking vessels. Maybe it doesn't translate to pictures but it's more like something out of a lab ... I do concur it IS a drinking vessel, never really doubted it but it doesn't feel like a drinking glass xx

I assure you it’s a drinking glass, albeit not a fancy one, it’s still a drinking vessel. A lab related item would have had engraved or enameled markings.

No as I said...I believe it is a drinking glass. I was musing :)

  14. I give up...I can’t follow these threads; they appear to be all over the place!

Oh? I can easily follow and I have dyspraxia. Where are you confused?

Yup we have a tendency to get off track.
Sorry if I was part of the confusion.

Don't give up on us. We could use your knowledge of milk glass.

  17. Lol...you guys know how to find me if you need any info!

...just cannot see how this is confusing. But am leaving it now...thanks everyone for your help xxx

  19. You had nothing to do the confusion, it’s on ME! I am the new kid on the block and don’t wish to make waves, at least not yet, lol, but I do not see the formatting of the threads to be as user friendly as it could be? When I go to post a reply, I find myself typing as if it’s a run-on sentence to my reply; that’s all I’m saying.
