Small Majolica style lion figurine - USA maker?

I thought this little guy was cute & he reminds me of the Cowardly Lion.
He is 3 1/2" to the top of his ear & is 4 3/8" by 2 3/4" across the bottom.
The only clue is the paper label on the inside.
Anybody have a clue as to the maker?

Is that a coin slot on the top of his head ? The label makes me think 60s ?

 

First thing I thought of was Wizard of Oz. Really sweet!

That is just a bit of brown paint. It reminds me of my dog when she is fretting about something & gets her "worry line" down the center of her head.

It might be a very recently made piece, but I wasn't sure. It is nicely done, so I thought I would run it past the forum to see if anyone had any information.
