I purchased it at an estate sale in Norwalk CT last week and I’m completely stumped since I can’t find anything quite like it. Others suggested it’s two separate pieces married together based on the wear. 11.5”l x 9.5”w x 7.5”h

That looks like someone's shop project.

I'd think someone found a top with a damaged base and a base without a top, and married the two.

Perhaps the bottom belonged to a foot stool?

That makes sense given the height of the legs, they were using it as a pottery stand at the estate sale

The top is very nice, and I'm with the others, it is a marriage. It could have come from a small table.
There seems to be a round indentation underneath, in the centre. If I am seeing it right, that could be where the original table stand could have been. So a stand that had three or four smaller legs.

Don't think it is a marriage, as the legs are tenoned through the top. I don't see someone doing that when combining two pieces. Just think a rather awkward design from someone who is a better woodworker than they are designer.
