Small table with seal

    Any help would be appreciated. Got this at an estate sale for 5 bucks. I am fascinated by it and cannot seem to kind out any information.

    1930s table. Maybe a radio table. Is the "seal" the decorative medallion that is missing from the front? It is made of gesso and , if from the front, may have been finished to look like wood.
