Snuff bottle

    I think it's called fossiliferous limestone, a material that can have a thousand variations.

    It is nice, but pretty recent, and purely meant to be decorative.
    When you buy stone snuff bottles, it is best to buy the ones with hollowed out shoulders, that is a sign of better quality.:)

    Thanks..Yes I know what you mean about being hollowed. I bought it on an online auction and they didn't have photos from above but I just took a chance at $35 AUD.Thanks again
