Featured Soldiers? Tintype

    They look like uniforms to me, but it could also just be the fashion of the time. No emblems/patches/belts are visible.

    The pants do both seem to have a dark stripe.

    With US looking at them, the one on the right DOES seem to be smoking....or at least looks like a ciggy in his right hand, other than that, he's quite the 'dish'!!!!!!!:smug::smug::smug::smuggrin::smuggrin:

    I'm going to guess former soldiers. The pants look military, or at least like uniform pants, but the hats and coats don't.

    Searching for Civil War Double Breasted Frock Coat show a number of similar styles for officers/enlisted men. There seem to be quite a number of variations/styles to how soldiers dressed, especially during the early days of the war.

    Those could also be train conductor uniforms or any other kind. The hat throws it off.
