I found this pin in a jewelry box I bought at an auction. It was obviously an artist made pin, but it is not signed. By the looks of the bottom it is a combination of pieces & parts.

My problem is I thought at first it was a spider, but it only has 6 legs.:confused::confused: I also have no idea what the stones that make up the head & body are called.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

It is 2 3/4" long from the antennae to the bottom & is 2 1/8" across the middle legs.

Thanks for any & all advice or opinions!!!:kiss::kiss:

Striking piece. Just had to say it reminds me of the old Green Hornet cartoons. Green body, red eyes,
(are those rubies?) and long snout.

They are red stones but lacking any types of marks I would think they are just rhinestones.

Have to say it looks like a mosquito to me. The green 'stones' look like art glass. Hmmm..

It's the buggiest bug pin I've ever seen! Love it!

    Wait until @kyratango sees this!

Brass and glass for certain; I can see air bubbles.

He is cool! And stunning large mosquito :)
Agree with evelyb30, glass (bubbles and swirling bands of color) and brass.
The construction is nice! I love his pointy nose!!!
