Sounds odd, but.......... I'm sure I'll get an answer

This is a piece of porcelain for which a friend is asking information. The part I am questioning is the actual age. My friend is well past 80. She says it was her grandmothers. Grams passed away in the early 1900's.
    Length is 12 inches, width 8 1/4. MVC-104F.JPG MVC-103F.JPG MVC-102F.JPG MVC-101F.JPG MVC-100F.JPG
The only mark is on the back, which is not glazed.
Any good or bad news to be passed on?

It's a dresser tray from the very late 1800's to early 1900's. Without a manufacturer's mark it is difficult to tell more. The numbers are most likely just shape numbers and don't really help to ID. Germany is not a bad guess though. Not really too much value I'm afraid. Mostly just a lovely family heirloom.

I agree with Don. Germany is most likely. Early 1900s.
    Transfer, not hand painted.

Thanks for a really quick answer. Half the ancestors are from Germany, pre-WWII. So that fits. The only marks are the "60" with a base on a cross left of it and a clear 1 below. I also guessed that it was not painted because of what resembles a decal for the flowers. Like a clear, thin, uneven and transparent border. Not all those items showing up in the picture, with the exception of what looks like a cross with a base on it that is visible in the picture. Would that maybe be a maker's mark?

What you are referring to as a cross looked more like a 4 to me.

    Boy, you folks don't quit.

Sorry, Don, but it is more of a cross. Take another look and check Janet's link. That "cross" is not indented as much as my friend's, but both lack that line stretching diagonally left from the top to the line dissecting the vertical line. And their does appear to be a base on the above one.

Janet, thanks a lot. You not only found a similar one, but a realistic value also. I do think the one pictured above is prettier, though. ( : >)

    OK, mission accomplished!!!
