Anyone know what country the mahogany used by Victorian era U.S. furniture makers came from . . . Honduras or Africa ?

If you duckduckgo Mahogany Sources History, you will find a ton of information. I actually have some original ledgers from a US mahogany importer from the late 1800’s, but I sealed them in a box to send to Winterthur, so don’t have easy access. Ps - duckduckgo is the replacement I use instead of google because I detest googles policy of tracking and spying for advertising purposes.
