Southeast Asia carving

    This looks older to me, but maybe the paint wear is wrong? Any idea where this is from? It's 9" tall. Thank you!

    It does look Southeast Asian (Thai, Cambodian, Burmese). It also looks like there is gilding (or gold paint) with a darker layer on top. Is that correct? In the photos, everything has a gold/orange tint.

    Yeah-- sorry about that. It's actually gold paint that has worn off revealing dark wood underneath. That flaking off does not seem to be exclusively on the more 'raised' areas, which is why I wondered about it.
