Hi all, I bought these seven books as a lot for $6.00.
There is one hard cover what looks like a spelling book, four soft cover children's books, and the other two pamphlet like booklets.
I can show more pics if anyone wants to see all the colorful illustrations or help with translating.
Translating some would be very helpful.

All the books, except the first one, are in Ukrainian.
    1. Alphabet (in Russian)
    2. Yevgen Permyak, Hurrying Little Knife (what a strange title)
    3. Grytsko Boyko, Football Fan
    4. Dmytro Kurovski, Putivchyk (an invented word, from the word "way", maybe a name of one of the characters)
    5. O'Henry, The Ransom of Red Chief
    6. Hrytsko Kovalenko, Native Home
    7. Omelko's Family - no author.

The last two look to me as Ukrainian diaspora's publications. "Native Home" may be the edition of 1957, published in New York.

Hi, @April07 -- I accidentally hit the Reply button while reading your post, and thought I'd send a greeting, since I was here already. :)

I'm glad you replied! I don't know Ukrainian, although it has some similarities to Russian.

O'Henry - and this particular story - was very popular in the Soviet Union. There was even a 1962 film based on "The Ransom of Red Chief".

And the early 1960s were generally very good for Ukrainian book publishing, it all began declining after Khrushchev's thaw ended.
