Spanish civil war medal?

    Hey guys, found this at an online auction, the seller says it is from the Spanish civil war. Is it real? How much should I stop biding?

    I wouldn't know if this is Spanish. at least the seller should know if it's from Franco's side or from the Republican side.
    from the colours I tend more to Portugal. could even be from the colonial wars, Angola etc.

    Tried to find something on the coat of arms shown in the star... Well, the seller really has no idea what he's got... Those are the arms of the city of São Paulo here in Brazil...
