No real questions here, a bit of a show and tell. Had to grab this vintage quirky piece last week for $5. Once home and I searched "elf-abalone" was surprised with how many versions of this pixie elf with abalone are out there. This is the first one I've ever found, but seems like there is a whole army of these out there. Posting just a few others from auctions so you can see.

    First, mine:

Google image showed maybe 20 different versions of these elves with abalone. Have others run into any of these before?

Not mine but a few for sale this week on Ebay:

I think they are kind of fun!

Cute! They remind me of the style of those fantasy pewter figures you could get in gift shops in the 90s. These are adorable though.

I remember those fantasy pewter figures. I *think* this brooch is a bit earlier than those 1990's ones since sterling (maybe 1960/70s??) but honestly I've never seen these and yet there seem to be zillions out there.

There are also screw back earrings in the pattern.

Zeroing in on this. Apparently made by Vera and Cyril Wood who went by the name CYVRA.

    "American vintage Cyvra costume jewelry
The unique Cyvra jewelry brand appeared in the 1950s in Topanga, California and ceased to exist in 1960s. It was a family business created by talented American artists Vera and Cyril Wood. Vera Wood grew up in England, and this probably determined the direction of their jewelry design. In particular, mythical creatures traditional for England, magical sea fish, mermaids, elves and mythological monsters."

Wow! Never seen one of those! They must be hiding under little forest leaves. Thanks for sharing!

You can’t leave that sitting there for just a 5’er. Too much fun not to take with you at that price. I’d never seen one.
