I am having a hard time finding the maker of this piece, not sure if it's a cigar tray or ashtray. I Googled the hallmark and cannot find anything with this tobacco pipe hallmark.
Any help on this maker and age hopefully.

    Thanks bunches...

Nice find! But not a cigar tray. It's Gorham and the little pipe was their date mark for 1895!

Could have sworn it was a bonbon or candy tray.

You're very welcome, Billy. It may have had a glass dish that sat in the round depression, but not necessarily. Are you planning to sell on line or locally?

If you'll need a title that covers all the possibilities, you might say something like - Gorham 1895 Sterling Handled Tray or Basket. Maybe include dimensions and then mention candy, sweetmeats, centerpiece, etc in the description.

Get pierced work in there too; the cut out parts of the dish look like architectural gingerbread, but the handle looks like something straight out of the 18th century.

Thanks, lot's of people always want to buy my stuff when in a pile at a sale or store.
Like today, some lady wanted to buy my glass, even before I paid for it...

You did a better job of reading the table than I did yesterday from a different source. Dang eyes!

Thank you, but I didn't even have the excuse of being too early and lack of coffee. It was lunchtime here!
