    Hi,
I'm trying to find out what the purple stone is, no bubbles in it. Signed sterling and F on the back, maybe Fannie Platero Navajo?
    Any information appreciated
    thanks for looking DSC06261.jpg DSC06266.jpg DSC06267.jpg DSC06269 (1).jpg DSC06270 (1).jpg DSC06274 (1).jpg

Perhaps a purple variety of jasper.

Sugilite is my best guess too. It's used a lot in post-WWII Native American jewelry.

Sugilite really wasn't available in the states until after 1975,the piece was probably made after that year.

    Nice necklace, cx.
Yes, F sterling is one of the marks of Fannie Platero. The stone is sugilite, like the others said.

The styling of the silver around the stones is common in Native American jewelry. That single F does look like it is Fannie Platero. I think you all are right about the piece. Polish it up! You have a treasure!
