Another thing bought in the '70s. About 1 7/8" across (inside), 1 3/4" high. Conveniently dated 1907. Weighs 52g.

Are those initials GH or GK?

Maker is Towle. Not sure about the initials. Gothic can be very frustrating.

Hard to read for sure but it does look more or less like GH if you compare to this text chart. Though, if you look at a different chart who knows:rolleyes:.

BK, but I'm pretty terrible at deciphering these.

I don't think I've ever seen a prettier napkin ring.

Thanks for the ID. I would not have imagined part of that mark to be the letter "T". Until I took the photo, I thought it was a lion (or boar... not very well delineated in this example) in a shield. After the photo, I thought the letter "J".

I'll go with GH for the initials, though there is wiggle room.

    Welcome to the board.

That is a nice napkin ring. I do wonder how this was made. I suppose appliques makes sense, but there is really no sign of a seam or join. A silversmith would know, but I do not.

Seamless tubing or it really isn't hard to make a solder seam disappear with a little magic .... http://www.argex.co.uk/productlists.php?cat=54
