Sterling silver goblets.

    Are those marks ,Sian' and, Siam 'or ,Siame' came from province Thai -Thailand ?Mark ,Sian' more often I'm can see on jewerly?What are diferince between that marks?My English not good ,If I'm wrong,sorry.Thank you. IMG_6208.jpg IMG_6203.jpg IMG_6202.jpg

    Siam is the old name for Thailand, at least in English. The mark is still used on silver sometimes, so it doesn't really help with age. They're also marked Sterling 925, so made in Thailand for export. And for the record, a lot of people say that Americans don't speak English very well either!

    If you see a 'Sian' mark instead of 'Siam', it just means it wasn't punched very well, and part of the m is missing. It is still meant to be Siam.
    If you see 'Siame', that means the person who marked it was drunk.:playful:
