Stone egg - malachite?

    Would love to know what this egg is made of if it can be determined from photos. My best guess is malachite but it's just a guess. I tried different backgrounds for the photos.     It's not malachite. Dyed something. Original seller probably described it as alabaster or marble. There is a stone called alabaster marble & it is used for decorative eggs like this. Mexico is one of the main makers. Serpentine is another major contender. But I know other members will have other good ideas.

    Hi,
    I used to have 5 or 6 dyed alabaster eggs like yours. Mine all had a tiny sticker saying made in Italy.

    Then they are alabaster marble. Italy produced a ton - well, many, many tons - of these, back in the day. Maybe still are churning them out.
