Stone oil lamps: origin?

Hello again everyone. I have these two stone (marble?) oil lamps. I got them at a antique store but they had no info or context and the owner did not know their source.

Thanks for any help in identifying them.

 

They don't look used. This would point, in my mind, to some kind of replica rather than an antique.

 

It looks like alabaster to me. I love them, but can't help you. Maybe @2manybooks knows.

 

I agree that they look like they are made of alabaster, and that they do not look like they have ever been used. The oil would have stained the stone, and there would be soot stains at the mouths. Finding such a similar pair would also argue against them coming from an ancient context, I think. Based on the style, they may have been made as tourist items somewhere in the middle east, or perhaps India.

 

Thank you guys. I did not think they were particularly old, so that makes sense. I'm guessing they were made with power tools. I had no idea as to location / culture, so I appreciate the ideas here. Thanks again!
